Calling ALL MEMBERS: It’s time to rally the troops, CFNH. Our support is needed! It's time for our CFNH Family to show up and give our love and support.
On November 5th, CFNH will be sending members to the APK Charity (http://www.apkcharities.org/about-apk-charities/) Annual 5k Ruck March/Race/Walk. There is also a Kid's Race! We already have 4 teams entered and there is still time to get yourself signed up either as an individual or to host a team. Let me be clear- we need YOU- and we would rather have all morning classes opt to participate in this incredible event than to show up in class that day.
As many of you will recall, CFNH has hosted Bob Keiser and the APK Charity Board at several of our events, including Memorial Day and July 4th. We will also be dedicating our Veteran’s Day wod to Captain Andrew Pedersen Keel, a resident of Madison, CT, who was killed in action in 2013 in Afghanistan. Captain Pedersen-Keel embodied so much of what we hold ourselves and each other to at CFNH and we hope you will find the time and the love to support this event in his honor.
This is the 3rd Annual APK 5K Run/Ruck/Walk and kids fun run in memory of Captain Andrew Pedersen-Keel. All proceeds of this year’s race will benefit CT Trees of Honor Memorial in Middletown, the Fisher House-West Haven, The Special Forces Charitable Trust and Honor & Remember, Inc. You can sign up for the 5k race, Ruck March, Walk, or the Kid's Run. Please make a note somewhere that you are with CFNH.
The race will start and finish at Guilford Fairground and follows a certified, picturesque route. Access to the fairground is free and there will be plenty of opportunities for spectators to watch participants. Besides a 5K Run, there is also a 5K Ruck/Walk and a Kids Fun Run. We have 3 Ruck March teams signed up- each member carries a pack of canned goods or nonperishable food items for the entire 5k. The team with first and last member across the finish line fastest wins. It would be an honor to take home the winner’s trophy to CFNH for this year.
Please bring a backpack with non-perishable food items with the following recommendations: for participants 150 lbs. and under – 10 lbs.; for participants over 150 lbs. – 20 lbs. The food will be donated to the St. George Food Pantry after the challenge. PLEASE! NO GLASS CONTAINERS.

• Granola Bars
• Juice – in plastic containers

• 07:00 am Registration Opens
• 08:30 am Kids Fun Run
• 09:00 am 5K Run – 5K Ruck/Walk start

***Note: If you wish to sign up a team of 5, please enter the team name when prompted at sign up. It should include CFNH somewhere in the name. For example, my team is called “CFNH-TeamWHIT”. Right now there are a few open spots on Trish O’Neill’s team, and there are several others who wish to create a team. Please speak with or email me or Coach Poz if you want to be on a team, but aren’t sure how to proceed. You can bring friends and family who are not CFNH members.
