The Newbies and The Burpees

The gym is open, because Mother Nature can suck it. Just remember to wear some outside shoes outside and change into your workout shoes when you come in. We want to leave as much of her outside as possible.


It's that time of the month again! No, not that time if the month. It's graduation time for another set of On-Rampers!

Everyone beat their previous time in the intro On-Ramp WOD, but I want to give a special shout out to Adrian up there. On day one, he not only wasn't able to finish the workout, I was a little worried for his health. The workout might have destroyed him a month ago, but in true CrossFit fashion, he came back and returned the favor by destroying it, blazing through the WOD in just over six minutes. Awesome work, Adrian!

Speaking of awesome work, let's talk about burpees. As you've probably heard, the first WOD of the CrossFit Open is a seven minute AMRAP of burpees. We've already had some amazing numbers put up and we're expecting to see some great performances on Saturday.

To hopefully help ensure some awesome scores, here's a video with some burpee instruction specifically for this WOD that Carl Paoli of Gymnastics WOD put together. There are also links on the page back to previous videos which are chock-full of burpee tips. In addition the one, the only, manmythlegend and future Mr. Carla O'Brien, KStar has just posted a video with mobility prep tips for the WOD.

One important note for the folks who did the make-up Open WOD last night. Make SURE you log in to your profile on the Games website and submit your score! Everyone is responsible for submitting their own scores to the Games website. Once your score is submitted, then we will validate and verify the score and you will show up on the leaderboard. If you haven't already submitted that score, go do it now!
