Kristen's athletic resume is long, with activities spanning the range from classroom to pool to trail. Kristen has a Masters of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of New Mexico, home to one of the nation’s top Human Performance Laboratories, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Currently, Kristen specializes in the physiological adaptations during pregnancy and preparing women for childbirth and the post-natal period.
Kristen is a very accomplished swimmer. As an undergraduate at the University of New Mexico (Division 1), she was awarded both most improved and most valuable swimmer during her career. After her college swimming career ended, Kristen began competing in triathlons. She competed in and won several sprint, Olympic and half iron-man distance triathlons. Kristen also competes in numerous running races on both road and trail. She consistently places in the top three in her age group in most events. Her latest athletic endeavor is CrossFit. She joined CrossFit in January 2010. Kristen was a member of the CFM team at the CrossFit Games in 2010 and at CrossFit NE Regionals in 2011.
