When I was a senior in college, my older sister and I started reading the book, Skinny Bitch.
When I finished reading it, I was a Vegan....for a whole year. Then I just couldn't do it anymore. I was eating a loaf of bread and bowl of soup every day to feel full! (Can you say carb loading?!) I am now almost all Paleo (with the exception of greek yogurt and quinoa....and frozen yogurt!)
I am still very aware of what I put into my body, as we all should be.
The below information was passed along to Carla and we feel it is blog worthy. This weekend, do some research on your own...but check out these stats. (You can watch Fork over Knife too...if you can stomach it!)
More than 99% of all poultry raised in the U.S. come from factory farms.
Over 8 billion chickens and turkeys are consumed in the U.S. annually—that’s 26 birds per every person in the U.S.
80% of antibiotics sold in the U.S. go to farmed animals living in filthy and cramped conditions.
