Calling All CFNH Family,
I'll ask you to think back to July 4th, when we honored Connecticut’s own, Captain Andrew Pedersen Keel by performing the workout “PK” as a gym. Many of you met Andrew’s father, Bob, and his friend Tony that day as they shared with us their mission to celebrate Andrew’s life through APK Charities- to seek to raise awareness and support for our active, retired, wounded and fallen warriors and their families and to provide financial aid and material assistance to charitable organizations and causes.
Now I'll ask you to think ahead to November 4, 2017, and envision yourself carrying a 20# pack filled with canned goods which will make their way to deserving families in need. It's time for us to step up, CFNH, and to show our love for this great organization and the families of our active duty, retired, wounded, and fallen service members.
Our goal is to beat our showing from last year by having more than 50 members get signed up and participate in the 5k Ruck March or Run that day. You can learn more about the event, about a Ruck March, and how to sign up here.
As crossfitters, we train for functional fitness and our sport is rooted in support of our armed forces and the men and women who have sacrificed so much for us. There is no better way to show our love and dedication, than by participating in an event such as this.
I challenge you to find 4-6 fellow athletes, family, or friends and get your team signed up! Please email Coach Whit (firstname.lastname@example.org) with your team info, once you've signed up, or with any questions you may have.
It's time to show up, CFNH!! We can't wait to see the turnout for this year's event, and to see YOU there!
